Top Honors Awarded to Sallie Mae, University of California, Emory Healthcare, Department of Veterans Affairs, The Walt Disney Company, New York City Information Technology and Telecommunications, Kaiser Permanente, Parsons Corporation, Chevron Corporation
Atlanta, GA (November 17, 2011) – T.E.N., a technology and information security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm announced finalists and winners last evening for the ISE® North America Awards 2011. Awards were presented at a dinner gala held at the Westin Alexandria, Alexandria,Va. The awards recognize both information security executives and projects for outstanding achievements in risk management, data asset protection, compliance, privacy and network security. Nominees are chosen from the commercial, government and education, non-profit and health care sectors.
This year’s recipient of the ISE® North America Award in the Executive Commercial Category was Jerry Archer, senior vice president and chief information security officer, Sallie Mae. In the Education/Non-Profit Executive Category, the winner was Grace Crickette, chief risk officer, University of California. The Health Care Executive Category winner was Brad Sanford, chief information security officer, Emory Healthcare. Jeffrey Shyshka, deputy chief information officer for service delivery and engineering, Department of Veterans Affairs won in the Government Executive Category.
The winner of the ISE® North America Commercial Project Category Award was The Walt Disney Company for “Bag It and Tag It.” The winner in the Government Project Category was New York City Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) for “Security Consolidation with McAfee Cloud Services.” Kaiser Permanente for “Operational Risk Management for Security Intelligence” won in the Health Care Project Category.
The ISE® North America People’s Choice Award winner represents the nominee who best exemplifies information security leadership as voted on by registered attendees. Last evening’s award was presented to was Lee Parrish, vice president and CSO,Parsons Corporation.
Presented on an annual basis at the ISE® North America Awards, the prestigious ISE® Luminary Leadership Award 2011 was awarded to Richard Jackson,general manager of global information risk management for Chevron Corporation. Jackson was recognized for his distinguished service, stewardship, and outstanding contributions in advancing the information security industry.

During the evening, a special tribute was paid in memory of Eugene Schultz, Ph.D., CISM, CISSP, GSLC, chief technology officer at Emagined Security, an information security consultancy based in San Carlos, Calif. Schultz who passed away on Oct. 2, 2011, was a role model, mentor and friend to all.
Award winners were selected from selected from all regions of North America including the U.S. and Canada.
