Alan Greenberg is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the University of Arkansas. In this role, Alan is responsible for developing University information security policy and strategy while executing a vision that promises to establish a high level of understanding of and attention to information security in our world-class institution of teaching, learning and research.
With over thirty years of progressive experience, He has held senior leadership positions as the Security Lead for Forsythe Technology (an IT Company) and PPL (a Utility Company); as well as being the Cyber Security Technical Director/Program Manager at Boeing and Raytheon. Alan is a retired Army Major with multiple assignments including the National Security Agency; Tactical Signal Assignments and Communications Officer during Desert Storm.
Alan’s most recent work includes the execution of a comprehensive cyber security vision and strategy for the University of Arkansas. resulting in ‘best in practice and operations’ audit certifications for security. He has served on numerous advisory boards and worked on several National Science Foundation (NSF) cyber security education projects.
Alan has a BA in Political Science/Pre-Law from Western Illinois University and a MSA in Administration from Central Michigan University.
