Mike Coogan has been building and leading highly effective, diverse security teams for over 25 years. He has worked in higher education (University of California), heavy industry (WM) and financial services (Allstate) to bring business-relevant security practices that have stood the test of time. He relentlessly pushes for practical solutions that balance the needs of the business with the ever-evolving threat landscape. He has presented to the Board of Directors in Fortune 250 companies to gain support for his initiatives while possessing a command of the security space that ranges from policy and governance to deep implementation of security tools.

Mike is currently focusing on bringing the next generation of security leaders into play, consulting with large corporations to enable them to take the next steps across emerging technologies such as operational technology, AI and cloud computing while providing core services such as executive protection, operations and forensics.

Mike has earned a Master's of Science degree from the University of California at Irvine, and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is certified as a CISSP and a CISM.
