Peter Chronis is Senior Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer and cybersecurity thought leader for Turner Broadcasting, a $13B media, sports and technology company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. Pete is responsible for Turner’s information security strategy, operations, architecture, governance, privacy, compliance and business continuity programs focused on protecting the company and its global portfolio of more than 100 brands. He also leads the security operations, strategy, IT compliance and architecture teams for Warner Media’s shared IT services group. This group supports Warner Brothers, HBO, Turner and Otter Media - companies with a combined annual revenue of more than $30B.

Pete has more than 15-years of experience using technology to manage risk for telecommunications, retail, media, entertainment, financial and IT services companies. He has developed a web of proprietary and commercial security technologies that, together, blocked more than 750 billion security threats, fixed more than 1 million security vulnerabilities and prevented $100 million+ in fraud.

Pete also developed sophisticated proprietary fraud detection systems for Lynk Systems an innovative, financial services tech start-up that was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2004 for $550M.

A frequent technology speaker, writer and security thought leader, Pete was recently named Information Security Leader of the Year by the Technology Executive Network and his team was honored with CSO Magazine’s CSO50 award. He serves on the board of directors/advisors for several prominent organizations like the National Technology Security Coalition and the Cloud Security Alliance. His new book The Cyber Conundrum which explores the need for a national cybersecurity “moonshot” was published in February 2018.
