Chris is Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for Capital One.  Capital One Financial Corporation is a financial holding company whose subsidiaries collectively had $109 billion in deposits and $147 billion in managed loans outstanding as of December 31, 2008. Headquartered in McLean, VA, Capital One has 738 locations primarily in New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Louisiana. Its principal subsidiaries, Capital One, N.A. and Capital One Bank (USA), N. A., offer a broad spectrum of financial products and services to consumers, small businesses and commercial clients. A Fortune 500 company, Capital One trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "COF" and is included in the S&P 100 index.

As head of the information security program, Chris is responsible for developing and building a program to ensure both customer and proprietary corporate data is protected from internal and external threats.  He has been instrumental in building enterprise programs for Privileged User Management and Monitoring, Third Party Management, Acquisition Integration, and Information Security Advisory Services.  Chris serves on the Financial Services Roundtable BITS Security Group Steering Committee as well as the Gartner Security Executive Council.  He was named Mid-Atlantic Information Security Executive of the Year in 2008 by Executive Alliance and was a finalist for the National Information Security Executive of 2008.  Prior to holding the CISO role for Capital One, Chris was the Chief Information Risk Management Officer for Capital One’s auto finance subsidiary, PeopleFirst.com.

Previously, Chris was Vice President of Operations with W.C. Duke Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in helping Fortune 500 hospitality firms become compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Prior to that, Chris was with Accenture in Washington, DC and Paris, France where he specialized in application architecture.

Chris is a graduate of James Madison University with a BBA in Computer Information Systems.  In addition, he has conducted graduate work at George Washington University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Chris resides in Virginia with his wife Tanya, daughter Macie, and son Logan.
