Myrna serves on the Boards of CMS Energy/Consumers Energy (NYSE: CMS), Spirit Airlines (NYSE: SAVE) , TriNet (NYSE: TNET) and Popular Inc. which operates under the brand names of Banco Popular, and Popular Bank (NASDAQ: BPOP). She is recognized as a Governance and Board Leadership Fellow by the National Association of Corp Directors (NACD). In addition to her public board service, Myrna serves on the Board of Delinea (formerly known as ThycoticCentrify) a privately held Cybersecurity Technology Provider (a TPG Company) and on the Board of Headspace Health privately held NewCo via the combination of Headspace and former OnDemand mental health provider Ginger.
Myrna is the Founder and CEO of Apogee Executive Advisors. Apogee Executive Advisors is a boutique advisory firm focused on providing strategic consulting in the areas of Technology Risk, Cybersecurity, Technology integrations, Digital Transformations and Enterprise Risk Management. The firm’s work is specific to Executive Leaders and Boards (Public & Private). In this capacity she also serves as a Strategic Advisor and on the Advisory Boards of multiple privately held organizations.
She previously served as the Chief Strategy and Trust Officer for Forcepoint (a technology provider for enterprises and the federal government). Myrna led strategy around product development, market fit and elevation of brand recognition of the organization’s product portfolio. She was part of the executive team who led the transaction deal team that successfully spun out the company from the Parent organization (Raytheon) to a growth private equity firm.
Myrna served as COO of Digital Hands via an investment interest. Digital hands was an award-winning managed security service provider (MSSP), and Managed Technology Services provider focused on providing world-class Cybersecurity ,and IT operations to customers and partners. She was responsible for Security Operations, Service Delivery, Global Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and HR. Myrna was responsible for the funding of the company’s first capital round , growing top line revenue by 30% and developing a world class team prior to her engagement completion.
Myrna was also an Investment Partner at ForgePoint Capital (Formerly known as Trident Capital Cybersecurity). She remains a venture Investor & advisor for ForgePoint Capital. ForgePoint Capital is a venture capital fund focused exclusively on investing in early-stage Cybersecurity companies.
Prior to joining Digital Hands & ForgePoint Capital Myrna served as Corporate SVP & GCISO (Global Chief Information Security Officer) for Comcast Corp, as well as SVP of Technology Infrastructure. In her role, Myrna was responsible for all security & technology risk management for the Enterprise. Her scope of responsibility included over 54 business lines within the Comcast Portfolio valued at over 163B, and over 160K employees. Myrna Served in her Role at Comcast for 9 years and was a member of the Executive Management Team and was instrumental in the development of several revenue producing business lines for the organization. During her tenure at Comcast she also served on the FCC’s CSRIC (Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability) council , Cybersecurity Best Practices working group. She served on this council from 2011-2015.
Myrna has over 28 years of focused Information Technology/ Cybersecurity experience and accolades within a variety of industries, including: financial services, hospitality, Insurance/Risk Management, and gaming/entertainment. Prior to joining Comcast, Myrna served as Interim CIO and CISO & Vice President of Information Technology Governance for MGM Resorts International (formerly known as MGM MIRAGE). She previously held senior technology leadership positions with American Express, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Kemper Insurance. She is a frequent speaker and sought after subject matter expert in a variety of focus areas.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University, a Master of Science degree in Psychology, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Myrna was recently recognized as Recognized As NACD Directorship 100™ Honoree 2022. She was previously named to Directors & Boards Magazine as a Director to Watch. She also was recognized by boardiQ as a Hall of Fame LatinX | Hispanic Top 100 Honoree. Latino Leaders magazine recognized her in June of 2021 as one of the Top 100 most influential Latinas in business ( for several years now in a row). She was recognized by SC Magazine as the Top 10 Power Players for Women in Security ,Top Women to Watch by Diversity Journal Magazine, named to the Top 100 CISOs list by Hottopics, and named to the Top 50 Women in Internet Security. She was also recognized by Multi Channels News as a member of the 2017 “Wonder Woman” honoree class. In October of 2021 she was named to ALPFA’s List of 50 Most Powerful Latinas in Business for the fourth year in a row, ranked as #1 in 2019. ALPFA recognized Myrna as Most Powerful Latina Hall of Fame member in 2022. She is a Maestros Awardee, Named to Women’s Inc Most Influential Corporate Directors, named by Bold Business as one of the Top 25 leaders in Cybersecurity and was named as one of the World’s Top IT Security Influencers by CISO Platform amongst other accolades.
