Ms. Della Shea is a member of the Senior Leadership Team for Symcor Inc.; a leading financial service provider that is owned by Toronto Dominion Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal. As Chief Privacy and Information Risk Officer, Della has responsibility for overseeing the company’s Privacy, Records Management, and PCI DSS compliance programs and provides strategic direction on all matters relating to information management throughout the organization. Prior to joining Symcor, Della held senior roles at the Royal Bank of Canada since 2000 including serving as Director of Privacy and Information Risk from 2004 to 2008.

With more than a decade of experience in the fields of privacy and security, Della is a strong advocate for the role technology can play in proactively managing broader business risk and compliance issues. Under her leadership, Symcor was recognized internationally in 2010 with the Privacy Innovation Award presented by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). This award was a testament to Della’s results oriented approach and ability to move from vision to execution. She is an inspiring leader who truly values the contributions of her team, and of all the employees who work diligently every day to protect client and employee information. She has created a collaborative environment that promotes accountability for personal performance which contributes to her collective goal of delivering strong results.

She has a passion for excellence as demonstrated by active and respected involvement in the industry. She is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), PCI DSS Internal Security Assessor (ISA) and PCI Professional (PCIP). She recently completed here Executive MBA at the Kellogg-Schulich School of Management (Northwestern University) and has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Acadia University.
