Kara is a dynamic and results-oriented executive with 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, technology solutions, human resources and transformational change management. Kara is currently leading Identity & Access Management (IAM) Transformation at Truist Financial Corporation. Before coming to Truist, Kara was the Head of Identity and Access Management (IAM) Risk at Bank of America.
Kara began her career as a Big 5 management consultant, moved onto leadership positions for two different technology companies, including an IAM consulting firm, before joining Bank of America in 2007 and moving onto Truist in Dec 2022. She is a seasoned speaker and panelist, most recently facilitating a discussion on authentic leadership for Ernst & Young’s Professional Women’s Network.
Kara is a NC native, a graduate of NC State University, and currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, Derek, and two fur babies. Kara is an avid volunteer, recently becoming a mentor and joined the board of directors for Wayfinders NC. As a leader and through all aspects of life, Kara hopes to inspire others to seek out new experiences, treat others with kindness, pursue continual growth, and embrace a zest for life.
