Mr. Salaets is the Senior Director of Global Security, Risk and Compliance for Rimini Street. Steven has more than 14 years of IT and Security experience.

Under his leadership, Steven transformed his department from an IT Information Security group to a Global Security, Risk and Compliance management department. Steven oversees the team  responsible for all security operations, including risk based vulnerability management, business continuity, awareness program, policy management, ISO 27001 and management of the global securityinfrastructure and all legal, regulatory and internal compliance oversight. New responsibilities include all enterprise wide risk identification and mitigation programs on a strategic, operational and financial level.

Prior to Rimini Street, Steven was manager of information security for Moody’s KMV where he played a key role in defining and overseeing the company’s overall IT strategic and tactical roadmap.  While there, he developed and implemented new procedures to conduct SOX data collections while reducing staff workload by nearly one-third.  He also developed and implemented policies on information asset protection, data classification, operating system platform security, network security and acceptable computing resource use. 

Steven earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Groep-T Leuven in Belgium and holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from Belgium’s KTA Niel.

Steven is currently a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
