Derek Rude is the Director of IT Security for Weatherford.  He is responsible for global information security strategy, budget, policy, architecture, incident response, and investigation.

Prior to Weatherford, Rude served in security leadership positions at Koch, Halliburton, and the United States Navy.  He has also served in a technical security capacity at HP/Compaq and as an IT Auditor at KPMG. 

He is Co-Chair of the Houston CISO Security Summit and participates in the American Petroleum Institute's Information Security Subcommittee.  In addition, Rude has also served on several customer advisory boards.

Rude has been awarded MBA, MS, and BS degrees from Texas A&M University.  He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
