Joan Ross serves as DocuSign’s Chief Security Officer and leads DocuSign's cyber assurance and security management strategy for certification to national and international standards to ensure customer privacy and data security. In her tenure with DocuSign, the company achieved ISO 27001 certification and has passed all security audits and certifications without a single exception noted in audit reports for PCI DSS, SAS 70 / SSAE 16 examinations and testing of controls.
Prior to joining DocuSign and in addition to running her own security consulting companies, Joan has served as Security Architect and Strategist for Microsoft’s Global Foundation Services Security and Compliance Division, and Vice President of Information Security at Washington Mutual (acquired by Chase). With more than twenty years of experience, Joan holds numerous security certifications including the CISSP-ISSAP, HISP, and NSA IEM. Joan obtained her Master of Science from the University of Washington in Human Centered Design and Engineering.
