Catherine Rees is Vice President, Cyber Security Strategy, at Comcast, reporting to the Chief Product and Information Security Officer. Catherine is responsible for developing strategic security architecture and maturing the cyber security landscape through innovative use of technology, designed to foster a culture that embraces risk awareness and achieve strategic business goals. Defining and implementing a multi-factor authentication program across the enterprise is a key initiative for Catherine and her team. Catherine is also a member of Comcast’s Technology, Product and Xperience Diversity and Inclusion Council, focused on building a consortium amongst other technology companies to share impactful best practices. Catherine joined Comcast in 2014 and brings more than 20 years of information technology, data center and network operations, and information security experience.
Prior to Comcast, Catherine served as CISO at News Corp, Dow Jones and ACE Group (Chubb Limited), where she helped build the information security architecture and controls for these global companies. Before that, she had a long career at CIGNA, where she worked in information protection, program management and other technology specialties.
Catherine has a Master of Business Administration from Temple University and bachelor’s degree from Rider University. She holds the professional designations of Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Information Systems Security Management Professional from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.
