Andrew Porter is a Director of Enterprise Architecture for Merck & Co., Inc. He currently serves as the lead architect for the External Partner Program (EPP), with responsibility and oversight of all architectural activities for the program. As an enterprise architect within Merck Research Labs, his technical focus areas include the implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Enterprise Knowledge Management (EKM) solutions. Aside from leading architecture for EPP, Mr. Porter also provides architectural alignment and guidance for overall MRL operations, including worldwide licensing. Prior to working within MRL, he was an enterprise architect in the Enterprise Technical Services organization, where he was accountable for the creation and management of the EKM reference architecture, as well as platform planning for the EKM and Collaboration organization. Mr. Porter has over 15 years of Pharmaceutical industry experience. Prior to Merck, he worked at Biovail Pharmaceuticals, filling various roles from enterprise architect and managing operations to network engineering and running the Enterprise Information Management group.
