Robert Mims is the director of Technology Security for Southern Company’s Gas, Nuclear and Electric security operations organization. Mims leads a team responsible for protecting critical infrastructure for four electric utilities and seven natural gas utilities with generation, transmission, distribution, nuclear, retail, wholesale and midstream operations.
Mims is active in the energy sector’s security working groups sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Energy (DOE). He is the former chair of the American Gas Association’s (AGA) natural gas security committee. Mims currently serves on the board of directors of the Downstream Natural Gas Information Sharing and Analysis Center (DNG-ISAC).
Mims is a 10-year US Navy veteran and holds a bachelor of electrical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
