Ben McGee is the Cyber Security Lead for SAIC in Huntsville. Ben’s specialty is secure software and systems engineering. He has experience with networking, databases, virtualization, encryption, biometrics, smart cards, access control, and identity management. Mr. McGee has worked for SAIC with the Army Software Engineering Directorate (SED) and NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). Ben also worked for Raymond James Financial on the Information Security team at their banking headquarters.
Ben was invited to be a part of the Cyber Defense Exercise in 2005 at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy as a White Cell Liaison Contractor sponsored by the NSA. During this exercise, Mr. McGee taught the cadets (Blue Team) how to build a closed network and defend the network from attacks by a Red Team.
Ben is currently the President of the North Alabama Information Systems Security Association (NAISSA) in Huntsville, Alabama that has over 125 paid members. He also teaches the CISSP Bootcamp, Security +, the Information Assurance Professional Certificate, Microsoft SharePoint, and Windows 7 courses at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) for the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS).
Mr. McGee graduated from the University of Florida and he holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation.
