Born and raised in Southeastern Michigan, Mr. Howell brings over 20 years of information technology and analytical experience to his role. In addition to his efforts in technology, Mr. Howell has developed a deep understanding of the credit union industry, having held multiple positions across the financial sector since 2004.
In 2010, Howell accepted a position with a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) and over the course of nearly a decade went on to lead the completion of many successful core system conversions, credit union mergers, in-house to cloud hosted environment migrations, credit union name changes, new branch additions, and more, for dozens of credit union clients.
In 2019, Mr. Howell accepted his current role as Chief Information Officer at People Driven Credit Union where he has very quickly built a strong team, and led the organization to become an innovative institution across the Cyber Risk Management & Oversight, Threat Intelligence & Collaboration, Cybersecurity Control, External Dependency Management, and Cyber Incident Management & Resilience domains.
In addition to his role in information technology, Mr. Howell has also taken on Enterprise Risk, accepted the board appointed CISO role, has taken an active leadership position on the credit union's Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO), joined the board of the Oakland County Chapter of Credit Unions, and has become a champion for the credit union's legislative affairs positions by participating in, and building internal support for the Michigan Credit Union League's political advocacy efforts. In 2022, Mr. Howell also accepted ownership and oversight of the credit union's branch facilities in addition to his other responsibilities.
