Chris Holm is the Director of IT Risk, Security & Control for TXU Energy, the largest retail electric provider in Texas’ deregulated electricity market. As the IT leader for information security responsible for protecting the information of TXU’s 2.2MM customers and approximately 5000 employees, Chris leads a team of Security Operations, Security Engineering and IT Risk Management professionals. These teams manage access control for existing business systems, manage the company’s information security program, engineer and test new information systems under development, and continuously manage IT control and compliance posture.
Prior to joining TXU in 2009, Chris was an Associate Director with Protiviti, a global risk consulting firm. He led Protiviti’s IT Process Improvement services in the Southwest, supporting global engagements. Throughout his 10 years of consulting experience with Protiviti and Arthur Andersen, he focused on IT service and change management, information security, IT governance, and IT audit for several hundred clients in nearly every industry.
Before joining Arthur Andersen, Chris attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army, with leadership positions in combat units and logistics / technology management responsibilities around the world. Chris is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and received his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. His current certifications include the CISA and ITIL Practitioner, Release and Control.
