Chris Hoff leads the Global Information Security Cyber Security Technology team, responsible for innovation and architecture, engineering, development, deployment, maintenance and support of information technology security controls. He reports to Chief Information Security Officer Craig Froelich.
Prior to joining Bank of America in June 2015, Chris served as the Security Chief Technology Officer for Juniper Network’s security, switching and solutions business unit. Chris has held similar positions at Cisco, Unisys and Crossbeam Systems, specializing in network security, engineering and architecture with a focus on emerging technology and disruptive innovation (such as virtualization and cloud computing).
In addition to his professional leadership responsibilities, Chris takes an active role in engaging children in the impact of technology on society and culture. Chris is a founding member of and technical advisor to the Cloud Security Alliance and the founder of HacKid, an interactive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) conference for parents and kids from diverse backgrounds. In 2010, he was named a Security MVP by Microsoft and was twice nominated for Information Security Executive of the Year.
A native of New Zealand, Chris attended the University of California at Berkley where he studied electrical engineering and computer science. He has more than 20 years of experience in network and information security, architecture, engineering, operations and management. Chris is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
