Ashley Ferguson is a risk and controls specialist with controls compliance, IT audit, SAS 70, policy and procedure development, business continuity, disaster recovery, pandemic/workforce shortage planning, security and risk management experience in the fields of Information Technology, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Financial Services, and Healthcare.
Currently Ashley is the Manager, IT Risk Management at Energen Corporation. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Information Technology, Ashley is responsible for Information Technology Risk Management including IT Security, User Access Provisioning, Application Change Control, Quality Assurance, Data Loss Prevention, Data Privacy, SAP Security, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Risk Management and Compliance.
Previously,Ashley was the Vice President, Manager of Business Continuity at BBVA Compass responsible for the Business Continuity program including business continuity planning, business impact analysis, emergency event communications, hurricane and inclement weather event management, pandemic preparedness planning and life safety coordination for the bank. Prior to BBVA Compass, Ashley was an IT Auditor and Controls Specialist for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Birmingham, Alabama and Ernst & Young, LLP in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ashley is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified in Risk & Information Systems Control (CRISC). She is involved with numerous community and professional organizations, including the CISO Executive Summit Governing Body and AABCP. Her true passion is volunteering with the American Red Cross and National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Ashley serves the American Red Cross as a member of the Alabama State Council and Chairman of the Board for Shelby County. She is also Program Co-Chairman for the state’s inaugural Heroes Breakfast to honor the military. Serving the National MS Society, Ashley is a part of the Birmingham MS Leadership Advisory Council and the Inaugural Birmingham Community Board. As a result of her leadership and service, Ashley was selected to be a member of the Birmingham MS Leadership Class of 2011 and received the 2011 Golden Leadership Award. Ashley was recently nominated by corporate leadership to be a part of the American Gas Association Cybersecurity Strategy Task Force created to lead the strategic planning efforts and develop security best practices for AGA member companies. Ashley received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama and her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems (MIS)from Tennessee Technological University. Ashley enjoys volunteering in her community and serving as a guest speaker/lecturer at various universities, conferences, and other events.
