Bill Dieringer is an independent consultant putting his 20+ years of experience in information technology and security to good use helping clients with their risk and compliance efforts, policy and process improvements, and technology selection/implementation.
As a former CISO, his responsibilities included: security vision and strategy; IT risk management; conducting/directing IT audits; ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations; implementing information security policies and supporting technology solutions; IT business continuity; and managing security operations across a diverse enterprise.
Prior to becoming a CISO, Bill performed risk & compliance audit services for Deloitte. His clients spanned several verticals including government, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and technology companies.
Bill started his civilian career after receiving his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force where he served for 11 years in the Communications and Intelligence communities. During his service, he received specialized training at the US Air Force Information Warfare Center in San Antonio, Texas in order to protect and defend our national security. Mr. Dieringer is a recognized industry thought leader, speaker, and trainer. He holds numerous certifications including: A+, CISSP, CHSP, CHS-IV, CCNA, and MCSE. Bill has served on Metro Nashville’s Information Security Advisory Board, Middle TN ISSA Board, Nashville’s annual Infosec Conference steering committee, and is a founding member of the Mid-South Security Leaders Forum.
