Jerry is a past recipient of the North America Security Executive of the Year, Government Category. Jerry has over 25 years of experience in the classical security domains to include cyber, physical, and personnel security in a number of public and private industries. Jerry is the Vice President and Chief Security Officer (CSO) for Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), the nation’s largest consolidated natural gas and electric services utility, serving more than 17 million customers in northern California. Jerry previously held the position as the first CSO for Lam Research, a Fortune 500 global semiconductor equipment manufacturer. Over his distinguished career, Jerry has held the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the US Department of Education, the global CISO for NASA, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary and CISO for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Jerry has also ventured over to the dark side and served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for NASA Ames Research Center. Jerry is a combat decorated Marine with service as a Marine Corps Light Armored Reconnaissance, Vehicle Commander and as a Counterintelligence Specialist. Jerry spent more than a handful of years tiptoeing around the world as an Offensive Counterintelligence and Counterespionage Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Jerry is an Advisory Board at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, College of Security and Intelligence in Prescott, Arizona. Jerry is also a Fellow with the Institute for Critical Infrastructure Technology (ICIT), a Washington, DC Think Tank where he has authored and co-authored numerous national level products on cybersecurity implications in critical infrastructure domains.
