As the leader of Fortify’s Public Sector Division, Kelly Collins works closely with public officials to raise awareness on the critical need for cogent policy to protect government systems from cyberattack. She ensures customer success with Fortify’s products in the Defense and Intelligence Community as well as at Civilian government agencies.
Kelly was most recently the President of Federal Operations for SAS Institute, where she created firm demand for the company’s advanced analytics products in all Government sectors. She joined BEA’s management team in 2005 and served as the GM and Area VP, Public Sector and Financial Practice. Her primary objective was to extend the base of acceptance of BEA’s comprehensive software solutions globally in their highest growth verticals. During her tenure, Global Government became the fastest growing industry segment and the number three revenue generator behind Financial and Telecom.
Prior to BEA, Kelly served as VP, Government and Homeland Security for General Electric’s Security Division, focusing primarily on Explosives Detection and Bio-Threat Detection systems for global government clients. Kelly and her team’s successful lobbying efforts resulted in a $150M funding commitment from Congress for explosive detection systems targeted at airline passengers. She also served as VP of Government Systems for Groove Networks (acq. Microsoft), a secure collaboration software company founded by Ray Ozzie, where she made the Government practice the strongest revenue contributor.
Kelly’s career in the technology sector began at IBM while still attending Rochester Institute of Technology, where she received her BS degree in Business Management & Information Systems. After five years working for IBM’s National Federal Marketing in Washington, DC, she spent the next five years with Sybase as an early stage start up and helped establish their early dominance in the Defense Intelligence Community.
