Darren Challey is the Vice President of Enterprise Information Security at Expedia, Inc. (EI) and has been with the company since 2012. Mr. Challey’s team facilitates annual Payment Card Industry compliance and generally oversees Security Posture to keep the company safe, secure and compliant through a series of programs and services.
Before joining EI, Mr. Challey was previously Manager of IT Policy, Metrics and Programs at General Electric Company’s (GE) global headquarters in Fairfield, CT. In a long career with GE, Mr. Challey had many roles including: Director, IT Risk Management; Application Security Leader; IT Controller and SOx Leader; Six Sigma Black Belt; Web Master and various roles as Electrical, Mechanical and Nuclear Engineer at both GE and Lockheed Martin.
Mr. Challey holds a Master of Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering from Union College. Mr. Challey is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and graduate of the GE Edison Engineering Development Program.
Mr. Challey was raised in New York State and spent about four years in Seattle supporting the Naval Nuclear Program in the mid-1990’s when he met his wife, Michelle, who hails from Ontario, Canada and they now have four children together and a Labrador Retriever.
