Neil Bryden is a Security Strategist for the Americas within the Enterprise Security Product business unit at HP. In this role, Mr. Bryden is responsible for driving strategic initiatives for the ESP Security Strategy group and providing thought leadership and insight regarding the ever changing global threat landscape.
Prior to joining HP in 2013, Mr. Bryden served as the Global Information Security Officer and the US firm’s Chief Information Security Officer for KPMG LLP. In this role, he held executive-level responsibility for an information security program that covered 110,000 employees in 140 countries. During his time at KPMG, he was instrumental in maturing the information security program, including the establishment of a software security assurance program, the development of an information security controls architecture to enable greater business flexibility while still controlling the risks, and the integration of an information breach response program into the firm’s overall Crisis Management Plan.
Mr. Bryden is a 30 year veteran of the information risk and security industry and has a proven record of designing, implementing and managing transformation programs for clients, and internally. Prior to assuming KPMG’s senior internal information risk role, Neil was the US Partner-in-Charge of its externally-facing Information Security and Privacy Services practice. In addition to advising numerous client CISOs, CPOs and CIOs regarding their information risk and security functions and programs, he was responsible for developing and maintaining the firm’s services and methodologies with respect to information risk. Neil has extensive design and implementation experience in the information risk aspects of IT Governance, Risk Management, Security Architecture, Offshoring & Outsourcing, Internal Audit and Business Continuity.
Although Neil has provided information security services to most industries, he has focused on Financial Services, Health Care and Technology.
