David Black is the Chief Information Security Officer at SiteOne Landscape Supply, the largest and only national wholesale distributor of landscape supplies in the US, with a growing presence in Canada. David has worked with the SiteOne team to create and implement a security program to support both compliance requirements and the ever changing threat landscape.
David’s deep experience spans multiple industries with consulting and corporate tenures directing global security initiatives and teams, where he has held roles from technical design and implementation to development and execution of comprehensive strategic security and IT risk management programs. Prior to SiteOne, David was the Chief Information Security Officer at Aon eSolutions, where he implemented and managed a security program supporting compliance requirements including HIPAA and obtaining ISO27001 accreditation.
He was also the Director of Information Security for EarthLink, Inc., where he implemented a complete information security program supporting high demands of a top tier internet service provider with extensive regulatory requirements and over six million consumers. Prior to EarthLink, Inc., David was also a manager within KPMG’s Information Risk Management Practice providing risk assessments, enterprise security architecture implementations, SAS70 audits, WebTrust and SysTrust certifications and ethical hacking engagements. His information security career began at The Coca-Cola Company, managing global Novell, UNIX and NT security.
David has implemented and managed security programs to support ISO 27001 accreditation, ISAE3402/SSAE16, HIPAA Security accreditation and Level 1 and Level 2PCI-DSS compliance, and holds the four most recognized and respected information security certifications: CISSP, ISSMP, CRISC, CISM. He holds a BA degree in Theology from Ambassador University.
