David Barton currently works as the Head of Corporate Security and Privacy (CSO) at HireRight Inc. He is responsible for international security for all of HireRight locations in 22 countries. He has over 20 years of experience in IT leadership roles across a variety of industries including telecommunications, healthcare, software development, finance, and government. David has served on customer advisory boards for various security companies such as IBM, McAfee, Tipping Point, and Websense. Prior to HireRight, David spent seven years as the Director of Information Security at AT&T/Cingular based in Atlanta Georgia where he led efforts to protect over 80+ million wireless subscribers. As Director of Security Operations & Engineering at Sprint/Nextel, David managed all security activities for application development (Java & .Net), database architecture (Oracle/SQL), and enterprise policy and audit compliance.

David holds an Executive MBA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and a B.S. Management Information Systems from Simpson College. He’s also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
