Steve is a recognized information security and risk management expert who currently heads the enterprise Information Security and Risk Management programs at Community Health Network of CT, Inc. (CHNCT). Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Tufts University and earned his MBA from the University of Hartford. After working as a math teacher for 4 years, he began his Information Technology and Information Security career at Aetna Life & Casualty where he worked for 10 years. After spending 4 years consulting in Telecommunications, he accepted a management job in Information Technology at Bayer Pharmaceutical. He moved to Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) in 1997 and in 2005, became their first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In 2014, he accepted his current position as CISO and Vice President of Information Security and Risk Management at CHNCT.

Steve has been an avid photographer for many years, first as a hobbyist, then as a wedding photographer and finally as a fine arts photographer. Now he shoots for the sheer pleasure of it! After being a photographer for so many years, he now sees the world as if through a camera’s lens. Steve has been very involved in organic gardening since the late ‘70s and currently maintains 5 separate plots of organic gardens. Steve’s life outside of work revolves around his 2 rescue dogs, each with a great story! He wrote a self-published e-book named “The Best Doggone Dog Buyer’s Guide” which was sold on his former dog product retail site, thedogauthority.com.
