Janie Aggas is a visionary information security and innovation trailblazer with an impeccable record spanning 20+ years, contributing to agile transformations, groundbreaking technology, and cybersecurity strategies to solve complex business challenges for Fortune 500 companies. She is recognized as a passionate leader in information security and a respected partner for the business, technology teams, and with partners such as compliance, legal, privacy, risk, and internal audit.
Already a strong voice in technology and agile transformation, her true executive leadership began while working for Fidelity Investments as an IT Service Manager, where she developed and implemented comprehensive and concise processes to assist executive leadership with meeting critical deliverables. Through that role, she was afforded an opportunity to shift from technology to cybersecurity. She began her rise through executive ranks starting as a Business Information Security Officer for a small, but critical business unit where her talents were put on full display. As a result, she was promoted to a dual role serving as Chief Information Security Officer for Fidelity Investments Life Insurance, and Vice President, Strategic Information Security Officer, supporting the largest corporate business unit at Fidelity.
Janie is no stranger to protecting valuable assets and information. She began her technology career at Pantex, the United States’ primary facility responsible for assembling and disassembling nuclear weapons, with the goal of maintaining the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile. Janie obtained a Department of Energy, Top-Secret Security clearance, and accelerated her technology career by leading their IT Service Management program while also serving as a core member of the Enterprise Architecture Office helping to set strategic direction across technology. While in these roles, she led the initiative to implement a formal configuration management database (CMDB) for technology assets. She is a change agent who facilitates formidable technology and information security transformations, anticipating and strategizing to address future risks.
Janie earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from West Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing a master’s in legal studies – Cybersecurity Law & Policy degree through Texas A&M’s School of Law. She is a conscientious leader who displays great passion in her work and inspires operational excellence by cultivating curiosity, optimism, empathy, and collaboration in her teams, partners, and the C-suite executives which she serves.
